McCain doesn't know who Spain's PM is

What a doddering old tard... Couldn't you at least learn your neo-con crib sheets a little better, before interviews like this? She asks him like 3 times...homeboy doesn't even know who Zapatero is.

In conclusion: Experience, Experience, Democracy, Hockey Mom, Freedom, Uribe, Freedom, 'Merica, Economy, Freedom, Freedom, Experience, Freedom, 'SenrrrObama', arugula, Freedom, Experience. Country First.

UPDATE: Although by no means revelatory, there was an interesting piece in the Guardian today about America's staunchest ally in South America (and the recipient of 30 Billion in aid since 2000). This is the sort of thing McCain gets giddy about when thinks about 'freedom' in Latin America.

Spain doesn't have a President. The head of state is a constitutional monarch, king Juan Carlos (aka Juan Carlos Alfonso Víctor María de Borbón y Borbón-Dos Sicilias). Zapatero is the prime minister.

Fair enough. I was going to write PM, but hesitated... thinking for some reason that they had a system similar to France.

The point of the post still stands: PM or Presidente, McCain seems to have no idea who Zapatero is, what relevance the PSOE has in European and world affairs and brings no nuanced perspective to international politics.

Moreover, his 'thoughts' on Latin American politics reek of the same sort of blunt imperialist ignorance and arrogance.

One would think, given Zapatero's steadfast opposition to the Iraq War, that McCain might at least be familiar with his name.
